The Banaras Hindu University shall conduct Undergraduate Entrance Test (hereinafter called “UET”) during 12th May 2019 to 16th May 2019 [Refer to Section 22 containing the Test Schedule] for admission to various Undergraduate Courses for the Session 2019-2020.

Admission will be on merit in the UET subject to fulfillment of eligibility requirements of the Course for which the candidate has applied.Courses have been divided into “General”, “Professional” and “Vocational” and are conducted in the respective Faculties. In addition, some of the Courses are also conducted in Mahila Mahavidyalaya, BHU (MMV), Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, Barkachha, (RGSC) Mirzapur and the Colleges admitted to the Privileges of the University in Varanasi city, namely, Arya Mahila Post Graduate College, Chetganj (AMPGC); Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Kamachha (VKM); Vasanta College for Women, Rajghat (VCW) and DAV Post Graduate College, Ausanganj (DAVPGC).

The total number of seats in various Courses are indicated in brackets where “M” stands for Male only, “F” for Female only, and “M&F” indicates seats for Male and Female both.

UET-2019 will be conducted both in the pen – paper (OMR based) and Computer Based Test (CBT) modes. Test in both the modes would be conducted on the same date and at the same time with the same question paper. While the Pen – Paper Mode test will be conducted in 45 cities across the country, the CBT would be conducted in 115 cities. While filling up the online application form(s) the applicants shall have to opt either the Pen-Paper Mode or the CBT mode. Option once exercised shall be final; no change under any circumstances shall be permitted.


Age Criteria:-

  • Candidates should not be more than 22 years on 1st July 2019.
  • 5 years relaxation in upper age limits for SC/ST & PC categories.
  • 3 years relaxation in upper age limit for OBC category.

Qualification Criteria:-

BA (Hons.) Arts Passed 10+2 or equivalent Examination with minimum 50% marks aggregate.


B.Com (Hons.)/B.Com (Hons.) Financial Markets Management Passed 10+2 or equivalent Examination with Commerce/ Economics/ Maths/ Computer Sc./Finance/Financial Markets Management/Vocational courses (related to Commerce) as one of the subjects.
B. Sc (Hons.) Maths Group Passed 10+2 or equivalent Examination with Physics & Mathematics and any one of the following: Chemistry, Statistics, Geology, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Geography.Secure a minimum of 50% marks aggregate.
B. Sc (Hons.) Bio Group Passed 10+2 or equivalent Examination with Physics & Chemistry and any one of the following: Biology, Geology, and Geography.Secure a minimum of 50% marks aggregate.


LLB (Hons.) Passed BA/B.Sc/B.Com/Shastri (at least 10+2+3 pattern) with minimum 50% marks aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST).Age Limit: Not to be more than 30 years (35 years for SC/ST) on 1st July 2019.
