National Defence Academy(NDA) Eligibility Criteria 2019
NDA Eligibility Criteria 2019 – Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has prescribed the eligibility criteria of NDA (1) 2019. The eligibility criteria include nationality, age limit, educational qualification and physical standard. As per NDA eligibility criteria 2019, candidates must be between 16.5 and 19.5 years of age. Candidates having appeared or appearing in class 12 (10+2) examination will be eligible to appear for NDA 2019. Male candidates who are unmarried can apply for the exam. Candidates must ensure that they fulfill all NDA eligibility criteria 2019 before applying for the exam. The written examination of NDA is scheduled to be conducted in April 2019.
Highlights of NDA Eligibility Criteria 2019
To be eligible, candidates must fulfill the following NDA eligibility criteria.
NDA Eligibility Criteria 2019 – Nationality
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Bhutan, or
(iii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Note: Candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) must have a certificate of eligibility in their favor issued by the Government of India. However, candidates hailing from the Gorkha region of Nepal will not require a certificate of eligibility.
NDA Eligibility Criteria 2019 – Age Limit
Candidates born not earlier than January 2, 2000, and not later than February 1, 2003. The date of birth should match the date recorded in the matriculation or higher secondary examination certificate.
Minimum Age: 16.5 years
Maximum Age: 19.5 years
Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for NDA examination.
Eligibility Criteria of NDA 2019 – Educational Qualification
For Army Wing of National Defence Academy – Candidates applying for admission to the Army wing of National Defence Academy should have passed Class 12.
For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy – The candidates must have passed class 12 with Physics and Mathematics conducted by State Education Board/ University. Candidates appearing in Class 12 or equivalent examination are also eligible to apply for NDA 2019. However, those appearing/ passing class 11 exams are not eligible for the exam.
Visual Standards for Air Force
In order to be eligible for Air Force, candidates must not wear spectacles. The visual standards set for Air Force has been provided below
