TISS NATIONAL ENTRANCE TEST (TISS-NET)

TISS ANNOUNCES Admission to the 2019-21 batch for it’s Full-Time (Regular) Post-Graduate Degree Programmes (M.A., M. Sc., M.H.A., M.P.H.) offered from Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad campuses and other locations like BALM, Chennai and TISS-Nagaland.

Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses have independent high quality faculty engaged in teaching, research, policy and outreach activities. The Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses are networked with Mumbai campus to access library, online books and journals and classes. All campuses have unified campus placement policy and placement process.

Campus Preference:

TISS offers 53 Master’s Degree programmes from its Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses and other locations for the 2019-2021 batch. Candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes across any of the two campuses indicating the order of preference. The merit list will be prepared based on the preferences given by the candidate in the application form.

National Entrance Test will take place at 39 different cities/towns across the country.  Pre Interview Test (PIT) and Personal Interview (PI)  for programmes offered at  Mumbai,  BALM, Chennai will be conducted at the Mumbai Campus . For programmes offered at Tuljapur, Hyderabad and Guwahati Campuses, the PIT/PI will be conducted at the respective campuses. Candidates applying for programmes at more than one campus, will have to travel to these places for PIT/PI. Except for the eligible candidates from the SC/ST categories all others will bear the cost of travel, lodging and boarding for attending the NET, as well as PIT/PI.

In case the candidate is selected for more than one programme after National Entrance Test, Pre-Interview Test and Personal Interview, admission will be offered to the programme higher in the order of preference. For more information about the selection procedure click here.

 

Application Submission:

Candidates have to apply through the online application form only. Following are the steps involved in filling up the form

  • The candidate has to register with an emailid. The candidate will be sent a password which is to be used to login and fill the online form.
  • After login candidates have to fill in their basic details, academic details and have to mention the programmes they wish to apply for in the order of preference.
  • Pay the application fee (depending on number of programmes applied) either by depositing cash in any branch of SBI or through Credit card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking and
  • Scan and upload photograph, signature, marksheet of last exam passed and other necessary certificates.

Candidates having lack of access to internet services (remote area) can write to Mumbai campus for printed application form. They have to fill the application form and submit before last date of submission.

Candidates  can apply for multiple programmes and pay for all the programmes in one online form and should not fill more than one online form. If a candidate is found to have filled more than one form, all his/her applications will be cancelled.

National Entrance Test:

National Entrance Test (TISS-NET)  is computer based. It will be held on January 13, 2019 from 2 pm to 3.40 pm in 39 Cities (below mentioned) in different parts of the country.

Note: The Institute may cancel any test centre and/or assign a nearby centre to a candidate, if the situation so demands.

TISS-NET Hall Ticket: Hall Ticket will be uploaded on TISS Website between 26 DECEMBER 2018 and 27 DECEMBER 2018, candidate can down load their hall ticket from the TISS website. Those candidates who have not received their hall ticket by December 27, 2018, can call TISS CARE : 022 – 2552 5252 OR may register their complaint by sending a mail to pgadmission@tiss.edu. Please note that candidates without an admit card won’t be allowed to attend the entrance test.

The PIT and PI for all the programmes will be held at TISS Mumbai, Tuljapur Hyderabad and Guwahati Campuses (please refer the to Important Dates Tab) The actual date of the PIT and PI of a candidate will be put up on the TISS website and will also be intimated to the candidate through e-mail. Short-listed candidates are requested to contact the Assistant Registrar (Academic), in case they do not receive any mail with regard to the date of PIT and PI by February 20, 2019.

Request for change in the date for the computer based National Entrance Test will not be considered. However, a change in the dates for PIT and PI may be considered, if the date of PIT and PI at the TISS clashes with the date of entrance test of another Institution or the date of final year examination of the candidate. However, the candidate must produce documentary evidence for this. Please note that the changed date for PIT and PI will be only within the time schedule announced by TISS.

The test consists of Multiple choice questions  and thus even those with rudimentary knowledge of working with computers or cell phones can do the test.

Candidates with visual impairment will be given an option to have a SCRIBE to assist them to complete the test. The SCRIBE should be an undergraduate student and should bring a valid ID proof at the time of the test. The Persons with Disabilities who has disability of 40% or more will get  compensatory extra time of  30 minutes.

Demo Question Paper 2018SYLLABUS PATTER FOR TISS NETComputer based National Entrance test (TISS-NET) will be held on Sunday,  January 13, 2019, from 2pm to 3.40 pm in 39 centres located in different parts of the country. The computer based test is of objective type and even those with a rudimentary knowledge of working with a computer can take the test.

The objective test will have questions related to General Knowledge; Analytical Ability,  Logical Reasoning; and English Proficiency.
